The red arrow points to Geronimo Hot Springs, which is next to the Geronimo Hot Springs Museum and across the street from the Post Office.

These are the dried salts of 1000 milliliters, the equivalent of slightly more than 1 quart from Geronimo Hot Springs.

100 milliliters did not show a thallium spectrum line, whereas 500 milliliters produced a fair line and this 1 liter of slowly evaporated dry salts had a definite good thallium spectrum line.

I have heard rumors that some people actually drink this water. I can only image what may eventually happen to their health.

I can appreciate the sensation of a hot mineral soaking, but, from my perspective taking a bath in this water is tantamount to inviting poisons to enter the body.

I realize that when these hot springs were first enjoyed by indigenous peoples or later tourists that ignorance prevailed as to how safe these waters actually were/are. But, now it would seem imperative for local health officials to make an empirical determination if the amount of thallium in these waters is actually safe.
