Rock samples were collected from various rock formations along side the Engle Hwy, starting at Elephant Butte Dam, on to Engle, then Cutter and Point of Rocks. Likewise, many of the rock formations in The Jornada Del Muerto were sampled and most samples indicated the presence of thallium. Furthermore, practically all dirt and rock samples from the Short-cut road to Cutter inside the Jornada Del Muerto indicated the presence of thallium.
The mounting evidence of thallium contamination makes me wonder about the safety of breathing the wind-blown dust, if wildlife and cattle that eat the plants are contaminated and whether or not tourists will really want to visit the spaceport area?
